Description

Note: This tour includes some technical difficulties and is quite long. Please only join, if you are up for the challenge.

We will do the tour in REVERSE and adding a descent to and an ascent from Schrecksee, ADDING an additional loop of ~ 2 km and 100 hm elevation to the profile.

I plan to do 3 - 5 swim stops along the way, for Traualpsee, Lache, Schrecksee, Vilsalpsee

Swimming in the lakes for yourself, of course, is optional. Please do only swim in the colder mountain lakes if you are fit to do so. Waiting for the swimmers before continuing the hike is not optional. ;-)

IF for some reason one or more members of the group are not able to continue on this route, parts of the group or the whole group may decide to turn back and choose a less difficult route along the "Jubiliäumsweg", which doesn't include the peaks, but still includes all the lakes.

Route description from original tour (which we will do in REVERSE), probably adding a short stop at Landsberger Hütte & Obere Rossalpe:

"Starting on the Austrian Side.  In Tannheim

Getting up and down to Rauhorn requires some unsecured climbing.

The way to [from] Kugelhorn is unmarked! Pay attention to GPS and/or path signs.

The view of Schrecksee from Knappenkopf is amazing!

This is a long tour, especially with the Rauhorn portion if it takes you some time to climb up and down.

If not long enough, you can add Rotespitze as an optional tour (+45 mins)"

Note: I am not a certified guide, nor a lifeguard. This will also be the first time for me in this lovely area.

While I consider myself an experienced hiker and even more experienced open water swimmer, I do not have the training required to rescue you.

If you're very slim, we might still fit one more person into my car, then drop me a message. 😉
