Description

Hike to the beautiful, gorgeous, and magnificent Useless peaks along the route Achenkirch – Hinterunnütz – Hochunnütz – Vorderunnütz – Kaiser-Maximilian-Rast – Achenkirch.  As the names of the peaks say, this hike is a superb opportunity to waste time. Route: http://out.ac/INZaGe .

Necessary:

  • ankle-covering hiking boots (unless you know damn well what you are doing) and
  • plenty of water (the exact amount depends on your weight; I recommend ⩾ 4 L).

Optional:

  • snacks;
  • hiking poles;
  • helmet, climbing gloves;
  • warm clothes, crampons, gaiters (in case of cold weather, ice, snow).

In case of rain, snow, thunderstorm, or too few participants (also if they don't show up last minute), the hike might be canceled, modified, or moved for safety reasons.

Not a beginner hike; medium pace uphill, slow pace downhill. Whoever wishes to swim in the lake afterwards (I don't), may hike faster.

I plan to drive according to http://www.google.de/maps/dir/Fürstenrieder+Str.+249,+81377+München/Obere+Dorfstraße+229,+6215+Achenkirch,+Österreich and pick up folks along the way. The price for being driven with my car might vary slightly (± a few €) depending on the parking fees and the number of folks in the car.

Tidiness rules for the folks who get a ride with my car: (1) keep your dirty hiking gear (e.g., dirty boots and dirty hiking-pole tips) in bags of yours, (2) don't eat inside (drinking pure water is o.k.; the driver may also sip a caffeine drink), and if you are really hungry, ask me to stop and then eat outside, and (3) someday – and that day may never come – I will call upon you to help me cleaning the car with time or money.

Other drivers may (or may not) have their own regulations concerning their cars.

I'm neither a guide nor an organizer; the hike is unguided. Everyone is fully responsible for himself/herself, should be able to hike alone with his/her own map, and hikes at his/her own risk.
