I am using a previous event for the same location, including some of the text here.

Here's the description of the route:

Hoellental via Stangensteig

I am a newbee not only to Munich but also to trekking in these areas. Initiating this only since I couldnt find another one for beginners this weekend.

The route has been recommended as beginner friendly by some friends, but please note that the previous events invite mentions that some of the path is so that this is not really suitable for first timers. There would always be different opinions, so please be careful as a default. Please also wear decent shoes.

It is critical that we reach Hauptbahnhoff by 7.45am, since we must catch the 8.21 train to Garmisch. Be on time! Last time to collect would be 8am.

Good to know
. 7.45am: reach Munchen Hauptbahnhof (we meet at start of platform 29)
. 8.21am: Board Hbf (tief)-Garmisch train number S-RB (we share Bayern tickets, each ticket can accomodate max of 5 individuals) 
. 9.54am: reach Garmisch
. 10.15am: Board Zugspitbahn 
. 10.27am: deboard at Hammersbach
Start walk to Hollentalkklam
Return along same route through trains to Garmisch and then Hbf.
. 6pm: Expected return (it should be earlier but it's better to be prepared for 6pm)
