Two day hike with a stay in a hut Carschinahütte (https://www.carschina.ch/), hiking to Sulzfluh on the first day, and following the Austrian border on the second day.
Route, day 1: St. Antönien, Rüti - Sulzfluh - Carschinahütte. Note: there might be some snow at the top, but I've been informed by the staff of the hut that this is currently not a problem.
Night: We'll stay at the hut with Halbpension, i.e. dinner and breakfast. The normal cost is 88 CHF.
Important: I had already made a booking for our group. I can modify the reservation by Thursday. As there are fees for no-shows, I will require that everyone who joins the hike prepays me the cost of the hut. This can be done by Twint or Revolut (my number there: +41786109108). The deadline for this is Thursday 4pm - if for a participant I receive no payment by then, I will remove their participation (and reduce our booking size). So please join the event only if you intend to pay by the deadline.
Proposal for route, day 2: Carschinahütte - Cavelljoch - Sassauna - Eggli - from there cable car down to Fanas. This is around 21.3km, with 1075m ascent and 1560m descent. We can also decide to do some other route, if desired.
Pace: Moderate.
Meeting point: St. Antönien, Rüti bus stop, or Zürich HB.
How to get there: Train IC, direction Chur, departs at 08:38 from Zurich HB, platform 6. Then change in Landquart and Kulbis.
How to get back: If we're lucky we can get bus from Fanas, Seilbahn - but it goes only at 16:42 and 18:16. Otherwise, we walk another 30 minutes to Grüsch, and take a train from there.
What to take: Hut equipment: Hüttenschlafsäck - something like a sleeping bag liner, as the bed clothing in the hut is not washed, pillow cover, hand towel, headlamp, (recommended) ear plugs and eye cover, some change of clothes - at least socks, basic cosmetics. Food: lunch for the 1st and 2nd day, snacks. Regular hiking gear.
