Description

Hello, Hiking Buddies!

With the hardcore hiking season arguably closed, it is now a great time to look for less technical yet scenic hikes, where you get plenty of time to enjoy the autumn vibes. Therefore, I am planning this hike from Walchensee to Eschenlohe.

The hike starts with the Herzogstand-Heimgarten classic, which offers scenic views to Kochelsee and Walchensee (and autumn vibes, probably). But that's not all- we will descend westwards to Eschenlohe via Osterfeuerspitze. Ideally, this will be an excellent spot to see a pretty sunset. Afterwards, only the simple descend to Eschenlohe is left.

This is not very beginner-friendly tour. It's a long long hike and we will not be making many breaks- 1 on Herzogstand, 1 on Heimgarten and another for the Sunset.
Expected pace - 450 hm/hour ascend, 700+hm/hour descend. I might encourage you to speed-walk the last 30 minutes if that gives us a chance to catch the train early.

Lastly, I plan to follow this ~30 minute shorter path by skipping Ölrain and going off-path for ~10 minutes
Von Walchensee nach Eschenlohe | hike | Komoot. The terrain is not challenging.

Returns hourly:
18:21; 19:21; 20:21 from Eschenlohe (most likely 19:21)

Departure: 8:05 from Pasing (or a few minutes earlier from HBF)
