Description

Please read the instructions before joining:

This is a shorter hike (~4.5h). We aim to spend some time in Bayrischzell and be back in Munich mid afternoon.

As it will be a bit colder in the week, please make sure that you have with you appropriate clothing.

It is preferable that you are relatively fit (~400m/h altitude) as this will allow us more leeway and also time to relax at the top, and for people that will need to return to Munich earlier.

Good to know
  • The train BRB RB 55 leaves HBF at 8:30, Donnersbergbrucke at 8:34, and Harras at 8:37. Please leave a few minutes of spare time and do not be late and miss the train. I will be joining you at Harras.
  • Please also make sure you are in the right carriage. There will be BRB55, BRB56, BRB57 that will separate at Holzkirchen. We will be taking the one to Bayrischzell.
  • We will arrive at Bayrischzell at around 10 AM.
  • The route is self explanatory (see Komoot and also the GPX file)
  • After we finish the tour, we can grab some food /drinks in town depending on the weather.

Kindly remember to pack the following essentials:

  • Deutschland Ticket
  • food and drinks for the entire day (as seen fit)
  • sundry cash (for food/drinks)
  • rain/sun protection according to the latest weather forecast (most probably cloudy / rainly)
  • Alpenverein / mountain insurance recommended

Disclaimer: Please note that this list is not exhaustive and every participant should conduct their own research and self-assessment before joining. Additionally, please be advised that I am not a mountain guide and hiking can be risky.
