Description

Very important: In order to join this hike you need a car. Any person willing to join can bring other persons with him/herself but those persons must be registered to HB and sign to the website.

You have three options:

- If you have a car, please add your car to the carpool

- If you don't have a car, please join one of the cars in the carpool

- If the cars in the carpool are not suitable, you can join the waiting list and you will be notified by email when a new car is added to the carpool

NB: This hike is not for beginners. There could be a certain amount of snow in the area around summit. So please keep it into consideration when you join this hike. Latest unjoin 12 pm Friday 28.06.2019.

Please 1) read description, 2) follow the event and the related news, 3) Update status main list or waiting list. 4) Join only if you really want to join the hike and not keep the hike as a potential event in between many other things to do in the weekend (last two events a few persons did not show up and did not write, were clearly reported as no show, and several others wrote too late, the morning of the event and with no real acceptable motivation). I expect latest unjoin at 12 pm the day before unless of serious reasons. I put some effort in organizing my hikes and I ask as requirement for joining respect towards the buddies willing to join rather than late unjoin that create stress to me and the other buddies.

Dear buddies,

weather looks great on Saturday! Let´s go to another awesome peak! Sonnjoch is one of the most wonderful Karwendel destinations. It rewards the long climb with a magnificent panorama from the summit ridge. We begin the tour in the Falzthurntal at the Gramaialm, through beautiful meadows we continue uphill to the mighty southwestern backside of the Sonnjoch, over which you can steadily gain altitude in many serpentines. With every meter of the view is grandiose, new mountains come into focus, until finally on the summit the far view is complemented by an impressive deep view. Its location and height provides free views from north to east and south.  It extends to the main Alps, the Bavarian Prealps and the Achensee. On the other side you can look down on Eng and in the impressive walls of Lamsenspitze and Hochglück, further west the Lalidererspitze and finally the Birkkarspitze. In the east a corner of blue Achensee. If you pay close attention, you will probably even see ibexes up here.

On the way back let´s drink something together and maybe let´s refresh with a swim in Achensee since it is expected to be quite warm day ;)

Hiking can be dangerous. So, insurance like DAV or similar insurance are highly recommended since this is not a guided tour. Everyone is responsible for themselves if anything happens to anyone.
