Pleasant hike from Krün to Seinskopf and Schöttelkarspitze with stunning views in an (almost) High Alpine Setting.
We are hiking through Hüttlebach Gorge, along the waterfall, up to Seinskopf and continue through the little canyon onto Schöttelkarspitze where King Ludwig II used to have his private mountain shed. The foundation of this shed is still there and it can be used as our lunch table.
The view onto Soiernsee and the surrounding mountain ridge is worth it at 2050 m.
For this hike, you should have done some easier hikes before and be used to be in steep terrain. We are going to take a few breaks and adjust the pace for everyone to keep up. There is little scrambling involved and besides your regular equipment (Mountain boots, backpack with snacks and lunch, beverages, rain jacket , sun glasses and accessories), you also need winter clothing because its going to be about 5 Celsius up there.
If you consider yourself a beginner and are not sure if this one is right for you or if you lack certain equipment, check back with me and contact me for questions and more info.
We will go at a moderate pace, but will be hiking for about 6 hours with 1200 altitude meters in total and should be back before sundown at 17:00.
Unfortunately, this hike is not accessible by public transport at this time. Due to interruption of train service to Garmisch, SEV busses are currently used and it is highly recommended to do carpooling instead.
If someone wants to go by train, I can pick you up at Holzkirchen by car (3 seats available).
Meeting point is the parking place in Krün, next to the bridge at 9:30 on Saturday: https://maps.app.goo.gl/2bsdiFuKfx3ZQZee6
