Dear Hiker,
Let's embrace the beauty of the mountains and the festive spirit of the Christmas Market together this year. I'm excited about the idea of exploring nearby's enchanting Christmas market while adding a touch of hiking adventure to our experience. It would be fantastic to share this journey with fellow enthusiasts who have a similar passion.
about Innsburk Christmass Market
Traditionally, romantically, and atmospherically, the Christmas season unfolds in Innsbruck's Old Town. Right in front of the Golden Roof, the stalls of the Christkindlmarkt nestle against the medieval houses.
The market stalls are a treasure trove of Christmas decorations, handicrafts, woolen goods, and souvenirs. An observation platform offers a beautiful view over the rooftops of the huts. Trumpet players from the Golden Roof create an enchanting atmosphere with traditional Christmas music. But also, a detour into Kiebachgasse, parallel to Erzherzog-Friedrich-Straße, is worthwhile. In December, it transforms into a fairytale alley: Numerous characters from the most famous fairytales gaze from house fronts, oriels, and gables onto the street.
about hike:
The Nordkette is the perfect starting point for a variety of hikes and walks. For example, the short ascent from the Hafelekar station to the Hafelekar peak, the panorama circular trail at the Seegrube or longer expeditions such as hiking into the Karwendel Nature Park via The Goethe Trail. There is something for all hikers and walkers at the Nordkette.
In addition to the high-alpine hiking options from the Seegrube and Hafelekar stations, there are also many hiking possibilities below the tree line, starting from the Hungerburg station. From here, several different alpine pastures can be reached with hikes taking between 45 minutes and 1 ½ hours.
I kindly ask that only those who are genuinely committed and physically capable of keeping up with the group's pace join us. Flexibility is crucial, and a good sense of humor is always welcomed. Remember to bring the essential equipment you believe you'll need, especially winter gear. I recommend bringing items like Proper hiking shoes, poles, headlight, spikes, gaiters, rain jacket, food and water and ofcourse good mood just in case.
It's important to note that I am not a mountain guide, so please take responsibility for your own safety during this adventure.
Lastly, I will create a WhatsApp group to facilitate better communication. It would be wonderful if you could join the group for updates and coordination.
This time, I won't be organizing group tickets, as I assume most people already have the 49 Euro ticket. If you need a group ticket, you can collaborate with others in the WhatsApp group to arrange it.
I'm eagerly looking forward to an amazing hike!
We will make use of a 49 Euro ticket for the Kufstein journey, with an additional cost of 17 Euros per person for the Austrian side.
Best regards,
Amir
