Description

The Christmas Market in Kufstein opens on Saturday, so lets do a hike and end there with a Gluhwein and dinner in the warmth of a nearby restaurant

Conditions to join: 400 hm pace, no noshows, unjoins at any time are not appreciated, join only if you are sure. Please don't join if you have to come back to Munich early as we will have dinner at Kufstein. Only for fit hikers who exercice a couple of times per week. 

This is a long (20km) but technically easy hike. The presence of snow can of course complicate things.

We will start hiking 9am, we will do only a few short breaks on the way. esp. if it feels windy/cold,  and aim to be back in Kufstein before dark.

The dinner will be at a restaurant near the Christmas market.

We go with Deutschland ticket, please be on time as we will enter the train soon after 07:35

We meet in OSTBAHNHOF platform 8

Kindly remember to pack the following essentials:

  • food and drinks for the entire day
  • cash for the Christmas market / restaurant in Kufstein
  • rain/sun protection according to the latest weather forecast 
  • headlamp belongs to the Rucksack in every winter hike
  • spikes (Groedel) belong to the Rucksack independently of any analysis of snow presence or condition 
  • Alpenverein / mountain insurance recommended
  • first aid kit for emergencies  recommended

Hi Ioannis, do you plan to take the BRB RB54 (79059) at 07:50 from Ostbahnhof? If it is alright with you I will board this train already at München Hbf at 07:39 and will come and find the group in the train. Best wishes! Oana
