Necessary:

  • ankle-covering hiking boots,
  • gaiters,
  • hiking poles, and
  • lots of water (the exact amount depends on your weight; I advise ⩾ 3 L) are necessary.
Recommended:

  • food,
  • Good mood,
  • crampons,
  • an electronic or a printed map.

We will meet at the Munich HBF and take the train at 08:30 to Lenggries.

In case of heavy rain, heavy snow, violent wind, or thunderstorm, the hike might be canceled, modified, or moved for safety reasons. For the hike to take place in any form, ⩾ 4 participants must show up.

I prefer to hike at a steady-pace with few breaks until the top, simply because of the low-temperature. The speed of the group can be adjusted depending on the preference of the participants.

The tour is unguided; I'm not a guide. Every hiker is fully responsible for himself/herself, should be able to do the hike alone if necessary, and hikes at his/her own risk. As a result, you should come to the hike with the map of the route, and familiarize yourself with the hike condition beforehand.


Good to know
Let’s meet at 08:15 at gate 34 the latest, so that we can find seats in the train. It will take 1h to reach our destination. I expect the hike will take 4-5 hours, so please bring enough water and food.
A sunny day ahead of us. The temperature will vary between -4 and -2 during the hike. I expect all snow will be frozen, since the whole week the temperatures were below zero, so don’t forget to bring your spikes and polls.

For those who don’t have Deutschlandticket, please coordinate among you in case you would like to buy a Bayern ticket (cheaper).
