Hoi hikers,


Let's enjoy the high life (2700m+ a.s.l.) and the view of 18 4k+ peaks!

Optional shortening the hike: As we will be close to the ski pistes, there will be 3 gondola stations nearby (Hohsaas, Kreuzboden, Triftalp), if you want to end your hike earlier and do not want to go down on foot.


Note: This hike is not suitable for beginners.


How to get there:

Journey by public transport: ZH HB - Bern - Visp - Saas-Grund Bergbahnen (bus) - Kreuzboden (gondola)

The train (IC 8 to Bern) departs at 07:02 from ZH HB. 

Journey by car: Use gps.


Meeting point:
  09:50 AM - Saas-Grund Bergbahnen Talstation bus stop

 
Hike:
  • The hike will last ca. 6,5 hours with a lot of viewpoints.
  • The pace will be medium/fast with enough time to admire the landscape.
  • Short lunch break on Hohsaas. 

High altitude!

Please take into consideration, that we will reach 3100m a.s.l., therefore you shall prevent altitude sickness by

- eating enough carbs;

- drinking enough water/hot tea (even if you do not feel thirsty); 

- avoiding alcohol before and during the hike.


Equipment:
  • SNOWSHOES, Proper hiking boots, poles, food, enough water, proper (warm) clothes acc. to the weather, good mood and fitness.
