Description
Couple of my friends will be joining me as well apart from the participants from HB.
Guided Torchlight Hike (Fackelwanderung) through Partnachklamm, starting at 18:00

Planning to the Eckbauer hut first and then to the gorge.
Total Duration: Around 4 hours (Eckbauer Hut + Hike through the gorge)
Travel: 12:15 at HBF Platform 27
If you are not interested in going to the Eckbauer hut please take the following train from Munich and meet us near the partnachklamm ticket office at 17:45

Please bring proper hiking shoes, layered clothing and headlamps.

Short-term closures are sometimes unavoidable for safety reasons
• Duration: 1.5 hours

• The booked service is an experience in the great outdoors, so the implementation depends on the weather conditions and there may be short-term postponements, terminations or cancellations. No alternative dates will be offered.

• Weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy shoes are mandatory. In the event of non-compliance, the guide may refuse to participate. There will be no refund in this case.
• It is not possible to bring dogs with you.
• Participation is at your own risk.
• Short-term closures of the Partnachgorge are sometimes unavoidable for safety reasons
• If the number of participants of 8 people is not reached, the tour will be cancelled. In this case we will inform you in good time.
• ATTENTION: There is no WiFi or cell phone reception in alpine terrain.

Inspired by your suggestion we spontaneously booked the Fackelwanderung yesterday and thought we'd share our experience with you.
The Touristinformation told us on the phone they take the booking option offline at 1 pm (6 hours before the Wanderung) - if not booked out before. They were able to tell me on the phone whether the minimum numbers of participants had been met.

Our group consisted of 13 participants and the guide, no kids. We met plenty of other groups - I'd estimate another 60 - 80 people. 2/3 of them were on their way back and only one group went after us.
Yesterday we were not able to exit the gorge on the end of the tunnels. Our guide told us due to the bad weather there are still trees laying around so the gate is closed. So we turned around at the end of the tunnels and were back outside the entry gate around 8 where we disposed of the torches.
It was -9 degrees Celsius in Garmisch-Partenkirchen yesterday compared to Munich's 0 degrees Celsius.

Make sure to keep warm with adequat clothing.
Also be aware that sparks or wax might get on your gear, like the operator warns - so maybe don't wear your nicest things.
Wear shoes that keep your feed warm and that have a good grip. The route was mostly not slippery except for one section where there is an incline and some wooden boards.
