Description
Notkarspitze (1888 m) is a beautiful peak and a popular destination in the Ammergau Alps. The peak can be reached via two other well-known peaks, Ochsensitz (1515 m) and Ziegelspitz (1719 m), which are practically on the way to Notkarspitze. 



Good to know
Important:
  • Although the hike is intermediate in difficulty (T3), a winter hike to this peak can be challenging and tricky. Hence, I highly recommend this hike only for the experienced and well-equipped.
  • This is a winter hike and expect temperatures to be negative (-7 to -5 deg C at the time of creating this event)
  • Please familiarize yourself with the route before joining the hike.
  • The pace is going to be relaxed and can/ will be adjusted based on the group's requirements and weather conditions
  • Please come in a good mood 😛 no one likes a grumpy hiker

By public transport:
    Train:  from Munich (08:32) to Oberau (09:44)
    Bus: Bahnhof, Oberau (09:55) to Klostergasthof, Ettal (10:05) 

Ideally, we take a train back to Munich before sunset.


Essentials (To bring): 

  1. Deutschland ticket
  2. Winter hiking boots (sturdy, warm, and waterproof)
  3. Spikes (highly recommended!)
  4. Warm clothes (highly recommended)
  5. Warm face covering (highly recommended)
  6. Gloves (warm and waterproof)
  7. Enough water (2-3 lt / as per your needs)
  8. Food and snacks (as per your needs)
  9. Hiking poles (optional)
  10. DAV insurance (recommended)
