Description

Hello Hiking Buddies

Join me for this year's Rigimarsch edition.

Please read the event description on the Rigimarsch page: Welcome to the Rigi91 association (rigimarsch.ch)

Route: https://s.geo.admin.ch/9f4b5de5f8

(You can also:

- click "Download GPX" on this event. This is the file I downloaded from the Rigimarsch page.

- remove the .xml from the file name

- import the resulting gpx in your GPS tracker. I use garmin and swisstopo)

- this is a 50km walk + hike (around 1800 m ascent most of these in the last 10KM). the start time is on May 8th between 18 and 19h30, expected to end sometime the next day. keep in mind that on May 9th the Ascension is celebrated, probably a day off for most people.

- please buy your ticket asap on the home page. I will not manage this aspect, i will only help with the scheduling and with organizing a few test hikes.

Meeting point and time: Bezirksschule Bremgarten, Obertorplatz, Bremgarten, @17h30

Getting there
  • By car: not recommended
  • By public transport:  Bremgarten Obertor (https://maps.app.goo.gl/Z6a5bntvCBUzzpP86)

Getting back

  • please refer to the Rigimarsch page: the return from Rigi to Bremgarten is included in the ticket price, but my German is as good as my Japanese, i'm missing the fine print. German speakers, please leave a comment below if you can clarify, i will add it later in the event - https://www.rigimarsch.ch/mostimportant/personenruecktransport

What to take: this is an advanced/difficult event. Please dress/equip accordingly. we can discuss on the whatsapp if you need some advice.

Grade: T1 and a little T2. There is nothing difficult about this hike except the endurance required.

Miscellaneous:

- we will start together, but since this is a very long event, we will probably split up at some point.

- my pace goal (since I'm an optimistic dude) is 10-12 min/km. My advice, know your pace and stay with it, don't do someone else's hike.

- the price includes access to kiosks (5 stops in total) with first help, snacks, soup, aso. the track is lighted with candles all the way. it's beautiful.

- there is the possibility to have a second set of gear transported for you for the final ascent (stop Seebodenalp). i recommend you use walking gear the first 40km and change to the hiking gear in Seebodenalp.

- It is a cool event, you will feel good if you finish it (after a couple of days of recovery that is :)

- this is my first organized event, get in touch with me if some fundamental info is missing.

In case anyone would like to have the route on other platforms, there you go :-) - Locus Map: https://lynx.foobar.vip/rigimarsch24.locus - SwitzerlandMobility (SchweizMobil): https://lynx.foobar.vip/rigimarsch24.sm - Komoot: https://lynx.foobar.vip/rigimarsch24.komoot It's just an import of the GPX from here (=> https://lynx.foobar.vip/rigimarsch24.hb.gpx) on these platforms.

Hey folks. I figured, it might be good to do some training - and so, I planned the following event: https://www.hiking-buddies.com/routes/events/9057/ - it's Via Alpina stages C1 & C2. Join, if you dare to :)
