Description
Conditions to join:
+ you can hike at a minimum steady pace of 400hm/h
+ you have already hiked in winter conditions
Schedule:
+ We meet at HBF at Pl. 28 at 8:15. Train leaves at 8:32. Please be punctual!
+ We arrive in Bad Kohlgrub at 9:59 (we have to change in Murnau) and start hiking
+ We should reach the first Hörnle by 12:00. At this point, the route stays more or less flat
+ We should start descending between 13:00 and 14:00
+ The hike ends in Unterammergau, where we should be able to catch the train back at 15:41 (arrival in Munich at 17:26). There are trains every hour and there is a change in Murnau.
Ticket:
I assume most of the people have the 49€-ticket. If you don’t, buy your ticket or text it in the comments below to share it with others who might be interested.
Must-haves:
- Enough water & food for the day
- Proper hiking boots
- Winter equipment (spikes, gaiters...)
- Cash
- Good mood
- GPX track on your phone
Recommended:
- Hiking poles
- Warm beverages
- First aid kit
- DAV insurance
Disclaimer: The organizer is not a professional guide. Hiking can be risky, especially in winter, and the participants are responsible for their own safety.The participants have to do their own research about the route, and must be able to navigate by themselves. It is highly recommended to have some kind of insurance in case of injuries or incidents

Ioma re, please be aware that you need to be able to steadily hike up at least 400hm/h. If you don’t have an idea of how fast that is, I’d like to ask you to consider joining another event. I cannot judge your fitness level, since your HB profile is rather empty

A kind reminder to all the people who joined this event, especially those who do not have a HB history: A minimum pace of 400hm/h is required. Please, think about your fitness level. And if you do not have a clue about pace, that’s already a hint you should look for another event. Thank you for your understanding

because of the hm unit? oops, it’s the German language influence. In case your question is ironic and you don’t have a feeling for the pace, consider that it should not take us more than 2h to reach the first summit
