Beautiful, family-friendly (winter) hike to Oberstdorf.
Flexibility is essential, and a good sense of humor is always appreciated. Please remember to bring necessary equipment you think you'll need.e.g ( Proper hiking shoes, poles, headlight, spikes, gaiters, rain jacket, food and water and ofcourse good mood)
I want to clarify that I am not a mountain guide, so please assume responsibility for your own presence and safety.
Lastly, I will create a WhatsApp group on Friday to facilitate better communication. It would be wonderful if you could join the group for updates and coordination.
This time, I won't be arranging group tickets, as I assume most people already have the 49 Euro ticket. If you require a group ticket, you can team up with others in the WhatsApp group to organize it.
From oybach we gonna rent Roller back to Oberstdorf. Around 7 euro
We experience the wildly romantic Breitach Gorge with its bizarre ice formations and then enjoy a very scenic walk over Reute to Oberstdorf. The Breitach Gorge was formed after the last Ice Age, when the melting ice masses deeply carved the rock more than 100 meters. In the early 20th century, the Tiefenbach pastor Johannes Schiebel began to develop the gorge. Due to numerous rockfalls and floods, the gorge trail was repeatedly heavily damaged. However, the Breitach Gorge Association spared no effort and ensured restoration each time. At some points, the gorge is only 2 meters wide. Therefore, during the severe flooding in August 2005, the water level rose to over 6 meters. At the lower ticket office is part of the Oberstdorf Mountain Exhibition. A special highlight here is a model of the Breitach Gorge that can be flooded with water to simulate different water levels. A nearly 15-minute film informs about the Breitach Gorge, the work of the association, and the mountain exhibition.
Hi there! Is the time indicated above (7:40) the time of departure of the train? Could i get more info on what train to get , or on the meeting point? Thank u! ;)
Sure, i already saw that. but could you please give details on the train (number and destination)? If i know train number and direction/last stop, in case the platform changes i cam still understand which is the train
I've been told that the roller is only accessible starting in March. , we have two options: either shorten the hike and skip the Oybach part, reducing it to 14 km, or include the Oybach and walk back to Oberstdorf, making it a 27 km hike. Each of us can choose which option we prefer. Regardless, for the majority of the hike, we'll be together.
