Hello All,

I am going to attempt this hike.  I've never done it before, but previous hiking-buddies folks have, and in winter, so its (probably) possible right now. There is significantly less snow right now than typical, so I'm gonna take advantage.


That being said, prepare for a challenging winter hike.  Even if everything goes well, this is a long hike so I want to keep a steady (fast) pace.  400m/h at least.  This hike isn't for beginners.  Hiking-buddies is saying this is T5, but its just the bit at the end, which we will skip if needed.  But with the unknown conditions of the snow, it could be a very challenging T3.  Lets find out!


The hut along the way is closed, unfortunately, but we won't have much time during the hike to rest in any case.


I'll be keeping an eye on the list.  If you are a beginner on hiking buddies, I may ask you to leave the hike, or at least message you and make sure that are fit enough to attempt the hike and keep the desired pace.

Good to know

All the normal stuff.  I am not a guide and you are responsible for yourself. I plan to stick to the posted GPS route, but may have to change it depending on the conditions.


I'm not going to go through what you should bring or not.  If you are doing this hike, you are well aware.


I'll be taking the 06:32 RE6 to Mittenwald, Pl. 31.  We should arrive just before 9:00.  The returns trains are every hour, so we will try to time it, or kill time by getting some food.


I'll post a WhatsApp later so that we can make plans accordingly.
