Description


Public transport: We will take RB6 departing at 6:32 am, which will arrive Griesen at 8:19 am. This is the start and end point of the hike.

Technical difficulty: The hike has difficulty T3. Please read the blog to understand the requirements for sac scale T3. In general this hike is not suitable for beginners.

There is no hut on the way. 

Things to bring:

  • Waterproof hiking boots
  • Gaiters
  • spikes

  • Valid ticket
  • Food/drinks

A couple of years ago, when I organized this hike, I received an email from Thomas (the creator of this route), with a subject "The Secrets of Frieder", so passing them on here (unfortunately, I cannot attach image here): Frieder, here is the webcam and the position of the Frieders to check snow conditions. https://www.foto-webcam.eu/webcam/zugspitze-ost/ Something good to know: 1) After 30 Mins on the “Forstweg” und may find a closed door ON the “Forstweg” and a fence, the trail is always along the right side for ca. 15 minutes, then you have to cross a stream (maybe only in summer with water) 2) After this stream there is something like a trail up at postilion 47.493195,10.951867 but that’s a fail and after 5 minutes you have the edge, all people do this fail even they knewed it before, me also. 3) 100 meters over a small hill after the faketrail entrence the real one is going up, this sign has to be behind you (if it’s still there) 4) The Kiosk is maybe closed in winter

Sorry for doing this so late, but I will not go on this hike. There will surely be deep snow.
