Description

Hoi hikers,


Let's start/continue collecting stamps and kms on the Via Alpina. This time we start and finish in the 2 most famous villages of Berner Oberland while enjoying the view of e.g. the Eiger Nordwand, Eigergletscher and Lauterbrunnen valley.

Weather forecast: Sunny and springlike at the start/end, winterish at Kleine Scheidegg.

Note: This hike is not suitable for beginners. Some snow expected on the higher parts, therefore spikes are recommended.


How to get there:

Journey by public transport: ZH HB - Bern - Interlaken Ost - Grindelwald

The train (IC 8 to Brig) departs at 07:02 from ZH HB. 

Journey by car: Use gps. Note: This is not a roundtrip.


Meeting point:
09:40 AM - Grindelwald train station

Journey back: 16:02/32 Lauterbrunnen - Interlaken Ost - Bern - ZH HB
 
Hike:
  • The hike will last ca. 6-6,5 hours with a lot of viewpoints.
  • The pace will be medium/fast with enough time to admire the landscape.
  • Short(!) lunch break at Kleine Scheidegg


Equipment:
  • Spikes, proper hiking boots, poles, food, enough waterproper (warm) clothes acc. to the weather, good mood and fitness.
