Description

This is the last weekend at Klewenalp Ski Resort. So use every opportunity to go out and enjoy the last weeks of winter.

We are following official snowshoe trail 501, but in backwards direction for more fun ;) The official hike starts from the "Stockhütte", but to warmup a bit, we will start from Emmetten Post (https://maps.app.goo.gl/bY93WpFS1omJedWG6). We will hike close to 9 KMs to reach Klewenalp to admire beautiful view of lake Lucerne and Mythen. The we will rent the sledges at Klewenalp and sledge down for another 10KMs to Emmetten. The tobboggan path is the longest path in the region.

Train from HB leaves at 8:10 AM.

Instructions

Bring your hiking boots, snowshoes (can also be rented on the spot so come in advance in that case), warm clothes according to weather, enough water and lunch.

Going Back - 

We will sledge back to Emmetten. The route already contains the path back.

Sledge can be rented for 10-12 CHF at Klewenalp station (top) and at Stockhütte (middle of the route), and returned at Stockhütte or Emmetten station (parking). If the "Toboggan run Klewenalp-Twäregg-Stockhütte-Emmetten" is closed, there are other options to sledge till Stockhutte, give back sledge and hike down to Emmetten. Or take gandola down either from Klewenalp or Stockhutte. We can decide based on conditions.
