Description

Liebe Bergfreunde,

as I mentioned to some of you earlier already, I want to do a 2-day hike in Esthergebirge. I booked a couple of places at the Weilheimer Hütte for the last weekend of August and I want to make it happen.

Please note that the hike has a reasonably strenuous way up and is partially exposed, therefore may not be suitable for beginners/people afraid of heights.

Our iterinary:
Day 1 (Saturday, 24th):
Train to Eschenlohe, then reasonably steep and long ascend to the ridge, that will lead us over a couple of peaks (and lunch on-the-go) to the Weilheimer Hütte, where we can leave our stuff and eat, heading off to Krottenkopf and Oberer Risskopf (one as a sunset hike) afterwards (or in-between)
Then sleep (oh yeah, maybe a beer before, don't forget the beer)

Day 2(Sunday, 25th)
After waking up we head over towards Bischoff (breakfast at Weilheimer Hütte, quite exposed, very rocky path), then over the ridge to Hoher Fricken and down into the valley, where we can stop at the Esterbergalm (basic, but we should not be too picky by the time) Then down a well-tread path down to Garmisch. Estimated arrival time back in Munich: late afternoon or evening.

Feel free to drop me a line if you have any questions. I am waiting for you to sign up until Sunday, the 14th of July and then will get in touch with you with some details.

Estimated cost (cash required): €80-90 (food, tickets, stay at the hut)

Please note that later in the process you will be required to transfer me €10 as a deposit for the hut and in case you will resign afterwards, you may not be getting it back.

//Please note the route was updated on 07/07/19 (Day 2) - it does not include Wank anymore. Includes Bischoff.

And the usual: I am not a mountain guide, everybody is responsible for themselves. Stay safe folks.

Good to know

At the moment 8 beds booked in the hut (managed to get 3 extra beds, the hut seems to be fully booked for now).
