Hi,

feel welcome to join me on the most beautiful hike of the Bavarian Forealps - Herzogstand and Heimgarten.

We will start from Walchensee, follow the route H2 up Herzogstand, pass by the Herzogstandhaus and make our way to the top. Then follow the narrow, somewhat exposed ridge to Heimgarten, where we will stop over for a beer/food. The descend route will take us down to Ohlstadt, where a direct train will take us back to Munich.

Please note that I intend to do this route at a moderate pace and the ridge is somewhat exposed, therefore may not be suitable for beginners or people afraid of heights.

Hiking boots are a requirement. The hike may be moved if the weather forecasts will remain bad for Sunday.

And the usual: I am not a mountain guide, everybody is responsible for themselves. Stay safe folks.

Good to know

Please take enough water (3l) and food for the day - there is a very little and cosy hut on Heimgarten that I would like to stop at, but please try not to rely on it - we will probably grab our lunch before, on the way already.
