Description

Sponsored by Arc'teryx

  • Everyone can join as long as you have the fitness level for such a hike. If you have joined a Arc'teryx sponsored hike in the past 6 months, please 1/ wait until Thursday to join (if any spots are left) 2/ bring the Arc'teryx item you received last time.
  • Each participant will receive one goodie (shirt / beanie / gloves). Please wear your goodie during the hike for the photos. If you already have participated in a sponsored hike, please wear the item you received (you may not get another one).
  • For most of the participants (depends on stock), a (very good!!) A Gore-Tex jacket will be provided for the day and you'll be asked to wear it. This jacket can be kept for a month or two if you wish.
  • Arc'teryx will cover the transportation cost for the drivers (if you're bringing Hiking Buddies with you).

Sunday looks sunny! And we'll probably still have snow at altitude, so let's go snowshoeing!

(If the snow disappears, we'll do a normal hike instead. In that case we'll take a different route: https://www.hiking-buddies.com/routes/routes_list/5231/)

Meeting point and time: 10:45 Flühli LU, Schintmoos bus station.

Getting there
  • By car: Navigate using Google maps. Parking spot is slightly beyond the bus stop.
  • By public transport: Flühli LU, Schintmoos bus station. (Train 9:10 from Zurich HB, 10:41 at Flühli LU, Schintmoos.)

Getting back

  • By public transport: Bus goes every hour 16:09.

What to take: Snow shoes, hiking shoes, warm enough clothes (layers! hiking up could be warm in the sun, top with wind could be cold), food (bring lunch!), drinks, sunscreen, sunglasses, a good mood!

Pace: Moderate pace. ~400 elevation per hour, spending ~3.0 hours going up. Then have lunch at ~13:30 at the top. I expect the hike to end around ~17:30

Grade:

  • If snowshoeing: Snowshoeing, physically demanding, not dangerous.
  • If hiking: T1/T2 easy.
