Description
Let's go up the "Hohe Kiste(n)" or "High Box"
It's a prominent mountain near Eschenlohe which looks a bit like a box from the valley.
Should be a nice round trip with some nice views to Walchensee just an hour away from Munich

This is not a hike for beginners because of the elevation gain and some small exposed parts
but we / I will go at a moderate pace

There is no hut on the way, we can eat something back in Eschenlohe
but bring your own food for the tour

Cost depends on the number of people showing up, we will use Bayern tickets, should be around 10-12€ each.

Good to know

We meet at platform 29 at Munich Hauptbahnhof to take the train at 7:32 to Eschenlohe
Please be on time so we enough time to buy the tickets etc.

Please bring

  • hiking boots / trail runners
  • proper hiking clothing (not accepting anybody with Jeans and / or Sneakers)
  • hiking poles if you have
  • food & snacks
  • Water (I would recommend at least 2 Liters)
  • head lamp (should not be needed but just in case)
  • some cash
  • good mood
  • sunglasses & sun cream
  • charged phone (my number is 0177/9768273)
  • DAV or similar insurance highly recommended
