Hoi hikers,


To do list for Saturday:

- going up to Rigi Kulm from the northern side

- hiking along the ridge to Scheidegg with beatiful panorama

- descending to the lake in Brunnen

- refreshing in the not too warm water 


Optional: Skipping the descent by taking the cable car down to Brunnen from Urmiberg. Ca. 650 hm.

Weather forecast: Sunny and "only" 17°C Rigi Scheidegg


Note: This hike is not suitable for beginners. 


How to get there:

Journey by public transport: ZH HB - Arth-Goldau - Kräbel

The train (IR 46 to Locarno) departs at 08:05 from ZH HB. 

Journey by car: Use gps. Note: This is not a roundtrip.


Meeting point:
09:00 AM - Arth-Goldau Rigibahn train station

 
Hike:
  • The hike will last ca. 7-7,5 hours with a lot of viewpoints.
  • The pace will be medium/fast with enough time to admire the landscape.
  • Short(!) picnic lunch break at Rigi Rotstock.

(Note: Total ascent/descent acc. to komoot: 1530/1850 hm. Uploaded here: 1685/2011 hm. Different apps calculate these data differently. At the end we will see, which was closer.)

Equipment:
  • Proper hiking boots, poles, food, enough water, proper clothes acc. to the weather, sunscreen, good mood and fitness.
