Tauern is a 1.841m mountain in Tyrol situated between the beautiful lakes Plansee and Heiterwanger See. Since the mountain looks like a ship in the lakes it’s also called MS Tauern by the locals. The views during the hike are breathtaking and described as hiking like in Norway because the long lakes surrounded by iconic mountains looks like Fjords. The hike is mostly described here http://www.hikr.org/tour/post99156.html but this is modified for public transport. Please note his is a T4 alpine hike and not suitable for beginners or slow hikers. No hut on the way but we will go for a beer/food in Heiterwang.
