This hike is subject to a few criteria - read the full description before joining the event please. :)

In case you cannot join the hike, drop out more than 24h before the start.

Edit 23.04 19h00: Route changed, T4 isn't an option due to snow conditions. You can reach the bus stop Gersau, Wehri by public transports, leaving at 7h05 from Zurich.

  • Everyone can join as long as you have the fitness level for such a hike. Exception: If you have joined a Arc'teryx sponsored hike in the past, please 1/ wait until Wednesday to join (if any spot left) 2/ bring the Arc'teryx item you received last time.
  • Each participant will receive one goodie (shirt / beanie / gloves / headband / cap / ...). Please wear your goodie during the hike for the photos. If you already have participated to a sponsored hike, please wear the item you received (no promise you'll get another one).
  • Arc'teryx will cover the transportation cost for the drivers (if you're bringing at least one Hiking Buddy with you).

General information

Weather: Sunny at least in the morning ☀️

Route: T2, fine even with snow.

Pace / fitness level: Always hard to describe the pace! Let's say you need to have a good cardio to enjoy the hike. :) We'll have some breaks to take nice shots for Arc'teryx.

Transportation: Car or train. There's a connection from Zürich at 7:05 am. Bus stop is called Gersau, Wehri.

Schedule (approx.)

  • 08h40: We meet at the bus stop Gersau, Wehri (parking next to it) + sort out goodies
  • 13h00: Top + lunch break
  • 13h30: Start going down.
  • 16h00: Parking

Do not plan anything right after a hike as we might come back much later than expected if something unexpected happens.

Gear

Mandatory: Hiking boots, at least 2L of water, food.

Good to have: Sun screen, sun glasses, hiking poles.

How to join this event

  • You're a driver? Add your car to the carpool (max 3 cars).
  • You're not a driver? Join a car (click on Carpool button > Join car), or join via public transports (Carpool button > Add a car with no passenger as a workaround)

I changed the route because of snow conditions - not safe to go on a T4. It's the same connection from Zürich (7h05), but we'll start in Gersau. Distance & gain are similar. You're free to drop out if you really wanted some T4, but do it as soon as possible so that others can take your place. I'll try to find a specific spot where we can park, but not easy in that tiny village. I'll update the description later with the exact meeting point.

I just got kicked out of the hike because the driver has deleted the car I had joined. I’m also fine with taking the train, but I wasn’t able to rejoin (I am on the waiting list now)

I updated the meeting point / time to be synced with the bus: 8h40 at Gersau Wehri. There's a parking next to the bus stop. I'll also bring Arc'teryx jackets as I usually do for Arc'teryx hikes - everyone will get one for the day, to have nice branded pics. I thought Spring would be here but apparently not!

Tomorrow I will meet you all at the Gersau wehri bus stop. I don't think anyone is coming with the train, but if you do feel free to join me. Starting from HB 7:05
