Route: https://schweizmobil.ch/en/hiking-in-switzerland/route-360, but in the reversed direction. From the website: The trail has something to suit all tastes: lakeside sections and meadows, woodlands and craggy cliffs. The highlights of the hike include the three waterfalls, the incredible colour of Lake Brienz and a historic hotel (Grand Hotel Giessbach) resembling a fairy-tale castle.
Pace: Moderate.
Starting point: Brienz train station
End point: Interlaken Ost train station. After the hike we can chill at the lake for a bit or maybe even go for a swim.
How to get there: Train IR 70 to Luzern departs from Zurich HB at 8:10. Change in Luzern to train PE direction Interlaken Ost.
How to get back: Train from Interlaken Ost - usually every 30 minutes.
What to take: Regular hiking equipment, in particular comfortable shoes (hiking boots or trail running shoes); food - we’ll have picnic lunch somewhere along the way; water; sunscreen; sunglasses.
Disclaimer: I'm not a guide - everyone hikes at their responsibility and risk.
