I am planning for a multiday hike from Oberammergau to neuschwanstein on 24,25 and 26th of May. 

Important: Please read the description before you join.

  1. You have to take a day off on the 24th.
  2. You must be fit enough to hike 20 Kms on average for 3 days.
  3. You must stay with the group throughout the hike for 3 days.

Day 1 Starting from Oberammergau on the 24th May(you have to take a day off), we will spend the night in Brunnenkopfhaus (Total distance for the day around 17Kms). We will cover the following peaks

  • Kofel (1342 m)
  • Vorderer Rappenkopf (1408 m)
  • Hinterer Rappenkopf (1404 m)
  • Brunnberg (1529 m)
  • Sonnenberg (1622 m)
  • Teufelstättkopf (1758 m)
  • Laubeneck (1758 m)
  • Hennenkopf (1768 m)
  • Brunnenkopf (1719 m)

Day 2 Can be as long as you want or as short as you want, we will spend the night in Kenzenhütte. Shortest distance from Brunnenkopfhaus to Kenzenhütte is about 10 to 11 Kms, or you can choose to cover the other optional peaks(highly recommended about 23 Kms). We will cover the following peaks, the first 3 will be mandatory, the other peaks are optional.

  • Große Klammspitz (1924 m)
  • Feigenkopf (1866 m)
  • Grubenkopf (1839 m)
  • Hasentalkopf (1797 m)
  • Beinlandl (1694 m)
  • Weitalpspitz (1870 m)
  • Hochplatte (2082 m)
  • Kenzenkopf (1745 m)
  • Geiselstein (1882 m)

Day 3 Rest of the hike about 19 Kms. 

  • Krähe (2010 m)
  • Hoher Straußberg (1933 m)
  • Ahornspitze (1784 m)
  • Branderschrofen (1881 m)(optional)
  • Tegelbergkopf (1567 m)(optional)

Expenses will be equally shared, stay at Brunnenkopfhaus hut is 11€ if you have DAV membership, if not 21€. Day 2 stay at Kenzenhütte is around 37€(flat rate this is a private hut.)

Other expenses include dinner and breakfast at the huts for 24th night, 25th morning and night, 26th morning.

Please bring your own food for 24th and 25th afternoon.

In summary this is a easy hike, not too technical but fun and demanding.

Good to know

Things to bring for the Hut:

  • Cash at least 100€ (150€ is nice to have); 
  • DAV membership card (if you have one);
  • Hut sleeping bag (not the normal ones);
  • Cabin shoes/slippers;
  • Bedsheet;
  • Towel;
  • Separate night clothing;
  • Plastic/dry bags to keep your hut/night clothing isolated (from bed bugs ideally, you never know....);
  • Trash bags (You have to carry your own trash throughout the hike, so pack light...).
  • Toiletries, medicines, etc... 

Things to bring for the Hike:

  • proper hiking shoes;
  • hiking poles;
  • gloves and beanies;
  • water proof jacket/rain poncho;
  • power bank;
  • food and water(at least 3L) for the day;
  • layered clothing according to the latest weather forecast;
  • GPX viewer with the route information;
  • Deutschland ticket.

Optional:

  • burner for coffee;
  • coffee mug and cutlery;
  • headlamps;
  • playing cards like uno;
  • first aid kit.
