The valleys in the south are only places with optimistic weather forecast for this weekend. With Ticino being currently too distant from the north due to the restrictions in Gotthard, let's take a train through the other tunnel to Wallis!
This is a medium-difficulty hike, starting in Visp, getting into the hills and then descending towards Brig. We should enjoy some sun on Saturday and there will be plenty of views of the valley.
Meeting point: Visp train station, connection from Zurich: 7:44 IC 81, change in Bern to IC 6, arrives at 10:02 in Visp.
Difficulty level: not technically difficult, but considerable difference in elevation, so you should have some experience going uphill for few hours.
Food: I can't guarantee there will be any restaurants along the route, so have enough food and drinks for a full-day hike.
