Note: T5 expereience needed. This hike is not suitable for beginners. 


How to get there:

Journey by public transport: ZH HB - Luzern - Schüpfheim - Sörenberg, Post (bus) - Sörenberg, Rothornbahn (bus) - Brienzer Rothorn (via cable car)

The train (IR 70 to Luzern) departs at 07:10 from ZH HB. 

Journey by car: Use gps. Note: This is not a roundtrip.

09:05 AM - Sörenberg, Rothornbahn

Hike:
  • The hike starts at 9:20 from Brienzer Rothorn.
  • The hike will last ca. 8 hours with a lot of viewpoints.
  • The pace will be medium/fast (>500m/hour) with enough time to admire the landscape.
  • Short(!) picnic lunch break at halfway (Tannhorn).
Equipment:
  • Proper hiking boots, poles, food, enough (3-4l) water, no fear of heights, proper clothes acc. to the weather, sunscreen, good mood and fitness.
There is no water source on the trail!

Update: As the forecast changed and now there is thunderstorm risk for the area, I have to postpone the hike. Next attempt: 13th July.
