Description

NOTE: Since weather conditions are changing drastically over time and I planned this hike pretty early, I keep my rights to change the hiking date (but hopefully we can do it)!

NOTE: Please check the gain and distance of the hike, it is not be beginner friendly. I do not go with the people who does not complete at least one T4 hike & >1200m uphill in one day and cannot keep 400 mph pace.

Kienjoch (1,953m) has a steep east slope down to the Kühalpental and an equally steep, rugged and rocky west slope high above Elmautal. The summit is a good lookout for the whole Ammergau region and provides great looks to Wettersteingebirge in the south and to parts of Lechtaler and Allgäuer Alpen in the west.

#############################################################

We will meet at München Hbf (Gl. 29). Please be punctual!

The hike should take ca. 9 hours with an intermediate pace of 400 mph.

The plan is following:

7:32 - 8:48 (RB 6) München Hbf -> Oberau
8:53 - 9:12 (Bus 9624)
Oberau -> Graswang Gröbl-Alm, Ettal

9:15 - 18:45 hiking + late lunch at Stepbergalm Hütte

18:48 - 18:57 (S 7) Untergrainau -> Garmisch (or 19:48 - 19:57)
19:05 - 20:26 (RB 6) Garmisch -> München Hbf (or 20:05 - 21:26)

It may change depending on the weather, hike & availability of the connections.

Sticks may be helpful to keep you safe.
