Description

This will be a speedy hike (but not a trail run), but there might be some running on easy parts going down if everyone agrees on doing so. There isn't much difficulties on this route as far as I know, so trail running shoes should also be fine, otherwise please wear proper hiking boots, no sneakers.

The plan is to ascend at ca. 600 hm/h.

We will take the 6:41 Meridian train to Kufstein, arriving there at 8:57. For the way back there is a Meridian train every hour, so at 14:02, 15:02, 16:02, etc.

My expectation would be to definitely catch the 15:02 or 16:02 train back to Munich. During the way down, we are very likely going to take a break for drinks and maybe a bit of food at Vorderkaiserfelsenhütte.

What to bring:

  • Have a very good fitness level
  • Waterproof Hiking boots
  • Good sun cream, and other means of sun protection, like a sun hat, or a baseball cap.
  • Flexible hiking clothes, it will be quite warm and sweaty going up, but you might get wet and cold during the hike.
  • Food and Water for a whole day of hiking (at least 2 Liter Water recommended), don't rely on taking a break at the hut.
  • Charged smartphone (and my number is +49 152 28632131, in case you get lost, or fail to find the group in the morning).

Good to have equipment

  • First aid kit
  • Extra battery / Powerbank for your phone
  • Hiking poles
  • Spare socks (if your feet get wet)

Cost per person

  • Guten Tag Ticket: Between 10 and 15 Euros per person (Bring Coins!)
