Beautiful three lakes hike in Allgäu region. It’s T3 grade hike, not T2 to the highest alpine lake in Germany. I like to keep a decent pace but I am not a speed hiker and like to take in the view. We may swim and take lunch at a hut if enough time. Please leave the day free incase timings differ and we are late getting back to munich. I will not tailor this event to fit your evening plans :-)
Note: I am not a professional mountain guide.
Each participant is responsible for him/herself and has to be prepared to participate in this grade of hike and to bring suitable equipment.
I may need to move the date of this event if the weather changes, fingers crossed it’s decent!
Timings
06:35 cars leave munich (it looks like approx 2hr10 drive)
08:45-50 cars arrive at parkplatz in Tannheim (exact timings and locations to be confirmed)
09:10-16:45 hiking/lunch/swim, depending on how much time we have.
Landsbergerhütte is on the descent so we wouldn’t reach til later in the pm, therefore bring your own lunch. If we decide to take longer to swim we may run out of time at the hut.
16:55 bus back to Tannheim (17:35 seems to be the last bus according to the timetable linked below).
Instructions:
Plan to be finalised with drivers:
Park the car Tannheim (either at Parkplatz Tannheim or parkplatz P1 which are opposite to each other). From there, we take bus (bus stop 50 m from the parking) to Vilsalpsee. Meeting time, at Parkplatz P1 entrance, is around 08:45-08:50 am in order to take the 09:00 bus. Vilsalpsee is 4 km journey by bus.
The reason for this is that the area we are going to is a nature reserve and parking is restricted at certain times of the day (I added the link below incase you want to check it for yourself, but quoted the text below for ease):
“Therefore, a driving ban applies to motor vehicles in both directions from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Please note that an absolute parking and stopping ban applies on the entire access road to the Vilsalpsee.
From May, a usage fee of € 5,- must be paid at the exit from 5 p.m. to 8 a.m.
Where to go by car?
Please park in the parking lots P1, P2, P3, P4 and parking Schmieden in Tannheim.”

We will take the 09:00 bus to Vilsalpsee
We will target the 16:55 return bus from Vilsalpsee to Tannheim (the last bus is 17:35).
I will create a WhatsApp group the day or so before. If you have not joined the event don’t join the WhatsApp (I’ll just remove you).
