phase 2: Westlicher Karwendelspitze Via Ferrata [C] (1h)

Hi I am planning to do this hike myself but I saw in the weather forecast that it is going to be Scattered thunderstorms on Saturday in Mittenwald, Is it safe to hike and do this via ferrata in this weather ?

Hi Ilyes.. we plan to start really early in order to finish at 12:00 the latest. Rain is expected from 13:00 so hopefully we will make it. If you plan to do whole Mittenwalder hohenweg (b) think that ferrata it's too long and you're going to catch rain 100%. But basically all depends on: when you start, how fast you are etc.. etc.. it's really personal.

Hi thanks for your reply, I am not worried about the rain I am worried about the thunderstorms that may occur, Is this the case when the weather forecast mention Scattered thunderstorms or it is gonna be just rain ? Sorry I am beginner and I want to be prepared and on the safe side because I heard the bad news that happened last weak in Zugspitze,

well, if you are a beginner and never run a Ferrata, I would suggest you to search for better conditions.
Example go Sunday if the forecasts are more suitable. Please don't undergo any Ferrata during thunderstorms.
And if you never did one I suggest you to do the B one (on the right of the Karwendel bahn (once you arrive on the top).. and not the ones at the left (that is C).
