Description

Hey Everyone!

The Four Springs Trail in the Gotthard Massif leads to the sources of four rivers: the Rhine, Reuss, Ticino, and Rhone. A tour through an exceptional Alpine landscape with a wide diversity of fauna, flora, and witnesses to a historic past.

Trip Details:

  • Duration: 4 days
  • Start Date: 01.08.24
  • End Date: 04.08.24
  • Daily Mileage: Approximately 18-20km per day with an 800-900m gain
  • There is water everywhere along the route so it’s going to be easy to refill water bottles, get refreshed, and clean dishes or cook.

I was not able to approximate the route properly on the Hiking Buddies Map. The trail is easier and a bit shorter and less steep. T3 not T5!

It is possible to just do a few stages of the Trail and go back home early or you can join the trail on a later stage. If interested, just write me a message.

All the information about the trail can be found here: Vier-Quellen-Weg – Stage 1, Andermatt, Oberalppass – Vermigelhütte | SwitzerlandMobility

As far as equipment goes, I have most of the stuff we would need and space for an extra person in my tent if need be.

Packing List:

Here’s a short list of essentials to bring along:

  • Backpack: Comfortable and sturdy, with a capacity of 40-50 liters.
  • Sleeping Bag: Suitable for cool nights.
  • Sleeping Pad: For added comfort.
  • Clothing: Quick-dry layers, a warm jacket, waterproof gear, and extra socks.
  • Footwear: Sturdy hiking boots.
  • Food: Lightweight, high-energy snacks and meals.
  • Water Bottle: Refillable.

Transportation: Everything is reachable by public transport or if need be we could also go by car.

I've done this loop, it's stunning! One of the more remote multi-day routes you can do in the Alps. Have an awesome trip!
