Dear hiking buddies.

the snow is gone, its time for Macun Lakes.

The national park around Zernez offers multiple great hikes.

This one if quite special. We walk up through the forest and then later at the mountainside, with great views at the surrounding mountains and the national parc.

Then we reach a pleatau with many little lakes and stay there for a while.

Afterwards down on the other side and finish at the station of Lavin.

The hike is weather dependant.

If there is rain or thunderstorm we have to cancel.

Right now (6 days before) there is no rain announced.

Time Frame:

09:30 meet and start (train from Zürich HB leavin 07:07)

1500 height meters, makes around 4 hours walking up

13:30 - 14:30 lunch break somewhere on the plateau

18:30-19:30 back at Lavin station.

Trains to Zürich take 2,5 hours and leave 18:51 and 19:51

Hike:

The hike is not easy, it has 1500 height meters and 21 KM.

The beginning is easy to walk, then there is a zig-zag at the mountain side, but not steep.

The last 200 height meters is walking on stones, no climbing, still T3, but also not for absolute beginners.

Picnic:

Picnic on the top.

Equipment:

Enough water, we cannot buy anything along the way and are exposed to the sun.

Application:

As always there is the possibility to come by car.

Join the car pool and either create a car yourself or have a look who can take you there.

For those who come by public transport please create a "car" in the carpool with around 30 seats and use "public transport" as a description. That way others can join that one and we keep a good overview.

If that one is full, create another one with 30 seats please.

No maximum number of participants.
