This route traverses along the southern slope of the Wetterstein, all the way from Ehrwald to Mittenwald. As a reward, the last part passes through the Leutascher Klamm (no entrance fee).

To make things even more exhausting (adding ca. 300-400 D+), and for more views, you can hike up and down Gehrenspitze from the west. But don't try going down to the east of Gehrenspitze, that path is unused and unmaintained!

The "Steinernes Hüttl" hut, and the "Rotmoosalm" hut (reachable with a detour, but only few additional height meters) are possible stops for drinks and/or food along the way.
