Breitenstein is a 1,622 m high mountain in the eastern part of the Bavarian Prealps, in the German state of Bavaria. The mountain has two peaks, the higher main peak in the east (1622 m) and the secondary peak Bockstein in the west (1575 m).

This mountain hike is easy hike, though there are some steep parts at the top. It offers a wonderful view from the top. In winter, there might be a lot of snow so be careful and check for the avalanche risks. Because you climb for the side of the mountain which lies in the sun, it gets quickly hot. However, in May, there's no snow left.
