easy but long hike in the Wimbachgries valley, between the giants Watzmann and Hochkalter.
At the Hirschwieskopf, the southmost peak of the Watzmann massif, you are rewarded with a view of rest of the massif, esp. Südspitze, and Königssee, Hochkalter, Hundstod etc.

Wimbachgrieshütte closes mid-October.
