One can start the hike from Oberstdorf and end it there. However to make it a bit shorter first 6 km can be avoided by taking a BUS (No 8) from Oberstdorf till Christlessee (Bayern ticket does not work in this BUS, you have to buy an extra ticket of around ~4, 00 euro. When we reach at a point called Abzweig Eissee, instead of turning left, most of the buddies started hiking up for the extra peak Rauheck. That was the best decision on the hike. I tried to run up to catch up with them. Eleven of us made this. And I found another Heaven up there. So, I could not stop dancing hehe.
then while came down to Eissee, we didn’t see red water. The red water which was probably due to red algae which can be seen on some of the ridges as patches were no more red that could be due to the fact they died in winter (low temperature). We will try to find them next summer.
And then we came back to Oberstdorf. Most people walked and only four took a taxi from Oytallhaus.
