Grosse schlicke is a 2059m high mountain in Tannheim alps. From the peak one can enjoy the nice view of surrounding high mountains such as Gehrenspitze, Rote Fluh, Forggensee etc.
Reaching the start point: Reaching the start point via public transport is not very efficient, but possible - one needs to take the regional train from Munich to Reutte in Tirol, and then take another regional train from there to Musau. Instead on Bayern ticket, one can buy the werdenfels ticket for this route which is a bit cheaper.
Ascent: The route is well sign posted, and one should follow the signs to Musauer alm. The route starts from Musau train station. After crossing the field, we enter the forest, which is steep at places, but offers nice views of Musau. The lower forest ends on a bike route. however, after 10-15 meters on the bike route, we need to switch to the forest route again (follow the signs for Musauer alm, Otto Mayr huette). This is a zig zag path, and finally ends in a wide road. After following the wide road for 100m, we reach a bifurcation - turn right here, and walk all the way to Musauer alm.
After walking a but from Musauer alm, turn right and start going upslope. There is a sign here for Grosse Schlicke. This route is not very well maintained, so you can find fallen trees etc. Also, one needs to be careful, as it is easy to be lost and go off the track here.
Finally, we reach a plateau from where the summit cross is already visible. The two routes to the peak (from Musauer alm and from Otto Mayr huette) meet here. From here, just follow the path to the peak.
Descent: From the peak to the plateau is the same route as taken during the ascent. From here one needs to turn right and follow the path all the way to Otto Mayr huette. From Otto Mayr huette, a forest route descends down to a wide road. Turn left here and walk to Musauer alm. From there the route is the same as taken during ascent.
