Brecherspitz (1685 m) is one of the most visited peaks around Spitzingsee. Thanks to the two huts Obere and Untere Firstalm which are open all year around. In winter however, it's neighbouring summit Brecherspitz-Westgipfel gets more attention. If you want to go the the main Brecherspitz summit, you can follow this route, be prepared for some icy ridge (not for beginners).

Ascent: This hike is an easy hike and can also be done as easy skitour/snowshoes. From the parking lot, follow the sledge path towards Obere Firstalm. Please take special care for the people who are sledging down on the same path. From Obere Firstalm, the path to the Westgipfel is a bit steep but not difficult. There are a lot skitourers on this part.

Descent: Same as ascent. You can rent the sledges directly at the hut.
