Staffel is a relatively easy mountain hike in Bavarian prealps, which offers great views of Karwendel, Wetterstein mountains and Jacnenau village.

Reaching the start point: The best way to reach the start point is to take Bob from Munich to Lenggries, and then bus 9595 from there to Baecker, Jachenau. There are only two buses running on the weekend, so that imposes some time restrictions.

Ascent: From the bus stop you can already see the peak. Enter the village and cross the bridge, from here turn right and follow the wide track for 200 meters. Then, turn left and enter the forest road. Follow the forest road all the way. There are several places where one can take a shortcut through the forest. A bit before Staffelalm, the forest clears up and one can enjoy the nice views of SylvensteinSee. On a sunny day, from the peak we can see part of Walchensee, Karwendel and Wetterstein mountains along with the beautiful Jachenau village.

Descent: The descent is probably more interesting in terms of views, however it's not really difficult. The whole route is very well marked.
