Simmering (2096 m) is technically easy winter hike and very popular among skitourers and snowshoers. There is an awesome hut Simmeringalm which is open in winter.

Ascent: The hike starts at Grunberglift parking lot. In the beginning the path goes through a wide forest road which is very well prepared by the hut for the sledges. After the hut you still have 300m to the summit. Without snowshoes and skitours, it can be exhausting depending on the snow conditions.

Descent: Same as ascent. Possible to rent the sledges at the hut for 3 EUR per person. One of the longest sledges in Austria with 6Km descent.
