Located in the south of the Mieminger Kette, the Wankspitze (2209 m) is a frequently climbed panoramic mountain above the Inn Valley, both in summer and winter. The views of Mieminger Kette from the peak is astonishing.

Ascent: The starting point of the hike is Wandernparkplatz at Obsteig (Parking fee 4 EUR in 2020).  Follow the path towards Lehnberghaus next to stream. The path is wide and mostly flat. After the hut path diverges, the left one goes to Coburger Hütte close to Drachensee, and the right one goes to Wankspitze. We took the right one (the sign post says 2 hours).

The path after the hut goes through forest in the beginning that goes to a view point (at 1690 m), a good spot for pictures. From there follow the signs to Wankspitze on the left. The path starts to become steep but not difficult.  After wanking about 1 hour, you will arrive at the ridge to Wankspitze. Follow the ridge on the left towards Wankspitze (the last part is steep).

Descent: Same as ascent. In winter you can take sledges at the hut for 5 EUR.

Klettersteig/via ferrata: In summer you can ascent Wankspitze from North with klettersteig.
