The hike on the Brauneck is a moderately difficult, not difficult for the length or elevation gain, when starting from the top of the Brauneckbahn station (notice the ticket up and down with Kablebahn costed 20€), but if you have difficulties when the path is exposed in both sides (specially with snow or slippery parts), then you might find some difficult steps. Other than that, it is in general easy and enjoyable.
The hike on the Brauneck can lead you to three summits and one little summit. From the top station of the Brauneckbahn you can reach the Brauneck summit cross after a few minutes. From there it goes over the Höhenweg to the Vorderen Kirchstein and the Latschenkopf. There are several well marked paths, this route followed Weg 4 Latschenkopf.
There are several ways back, but if you go on a winter day, with some snow, it seems reasonable to go back the same path, since some of the circular routes go through quite steep areas, which could lead to avalanche.
