I did this hike a couple of times in winter with snowshoes, starting from Refugi Cap de Rec (Hütte), reachable by car. One can also sleep there, and start early morning, or stay after the hike. One can also do cross country ski and ski touring starting from the same point.
The hike is not technical, it is a gradually going up, at first through forest, it opens up at Refugi de Pradell, and later on open space. Be aware that weather can change abruptly in the Pyrenees, and it can be considerably windy at that altitude.
During the hike one have great views to the Valley of La Cerdanya, and to Serra del Cadi. Once on the top, one can see the mountains of Andorra.
