Kärlingerhaus is an alpine club hut (often also called Funtenseehaus) of the Berchtesgaden section of the German Alpine Association. It is located about 100 m northwest of the Funtensee in the Berchtesgadener Alps in the Berchtesgadener Land. This is easy hike, and offers very beautiful views. On the way down, an special care has to be taken if the path is wet.
By public transport: It's a little bit complicated and lengthy to reach Königssee from Munich by public transport. You need to take Meridian train from Munich towards Salzburg, and change in Freilassing. From Freilassing take another train to Berchtesgaden main station. From Berchtesgaden main station take Bus 841 to Königssee.
By car: There is a big parking lot close to Jennerbahn. The navigation address is Jennerbahnstraße 18, 83471 Schönau am Königssee.
After arriving at Königssee, you need to take a Ferry to St. Bartholoma. That's the starting point of the hike. The end point of the hike is the last stop of ferry - Salet.
